President's 2025 Report
The 53rd Congress and Championships of the WMTS, held a year ago in the beautiful city of Budapest, may now be a part of our history—but its spirit, achievements, and the friendship we shared continue to stay with us. That event marked the closing of one remarkable chapter and laid the foundation for the next.
It is my sincere pleasure to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the unforgettable success of that gathering. To the organizers, the volunteers, and every individual involved—your efforts, whether large or small, truly mattered. You created an environment where excellence in sport and medicine could flourish side by side.
A special note of appreciation goes to Mr. Ákos Pethes. His name became a cornerstone of the event’s success, and I remain deeply grateful for his dedication, attention to detail, and the opportunities he made possible.
All of us—physicians who also share a love for tennis—had the chance not only to compete, but to connect, share our professional knowledge, and enjoy the rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality of Hungary. That blend of intellect, sport, and culture is what makes WMTS so unique.
As always, my heartfelt gratitude goes to Mr. Egils Valeinis, one of the most dedicated and tireless members of the WMTS Executive Committee. His quiet commitment and steady hand ensure that every event runs seamlessly, without unnecessary stress or complication.
I also want to acknowledge Mrs. Joanna Szafranek and all the former Presidents of WMTS. Thanks to their vision and leadership, this association has thrived for over 53 years. We see you, we remember your contributions, and we are profoundly grateful.
And now, with warm hearts and eager anticipation, we turn the page to a new chapter. It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 54th WMTS Championships, here in the vibrant city of Gdynia, Poland. May it be a week of great matches, meaningful exchange, and lasting memories.
Welcome—and let the story continue.
